I agree, it's getting to be the busiest time of the year for catalogs and www.stotphejunkmail.com can also help consumers stop the flood.

Ahhh...the best laid plans...

So, my family had emergencies and illnesses this summer, so only the first unit got done.

I will post the lesson plans/materials & book lists for each lesson, but no comments on how it worked because, I don't know yet.

I also edited the post to reorder the lessons, since I won't be working around schedules.

FYI, the original order looked like this: (but the new order flows better)
1 - Into to Science Concepts: scientific method, magnification, variables, change
2 - Meteorology: weather patterns, clouds, water cycle
3 - Geology: plate tectonics & volcanoes, rock types, how fossils are made
4 - Astronomy 1: Earth and Solar system
5 - Physics 1: mechanical, forces, gravity, robotics
6 - Physics 2: electro-magnetic, light, sound
7 - Botany: life cycle, types, parts
8 - Astronomy 2: stars
9 - Zoology 1: Invertebrates: worms, bugs, butterflies, octopuses
10 - Zoology 2: Vertebrates: baby animals, development & growth, phyla, primates

For a birthday one year, my parents bought me the book "Nine and Counting" about the women senators at the time. Senator Patty Murray was told by someone that she didn't know what she was talking about because she was just a "mom in tennis shoes!" That inspired her, rather than discouraged her.

And Jenny, I respect everything in yout comment but the use of the word "Meh." Why start out so snarky?

Meh ... I think you seriously misunderstood that post.

I don't buy into the hype (the constant election talk, the television campaigns, the nonsensical political mail) and I definitely don't buy into the hype that comes only around presidential elections times.

Instead, I study my candidates no matter if they're local or federal and this mama votes in every single election no matter how small. Hell, I even attend every single town council meeting.

There's more to politics than presidential elections and dragging babies along for photo ops.
